What kind of documents do I need for a tour to Chernobyl?

To join a tour to Chernobyl with Radioactive Team it is enough to have a passport (Not ID, but passport), be at least 18 years old, and have a big desire to take a part in one of the exciting trips to the most interesting place on our planet, Chernobyl.

What should I do after I place an application for a tour?

After you fill in the registration form, to confirm the intention to participate in the trip, you need to make a payment using these types of payments:

As well there is a possibility of advance prepayment in the amount of 20% from your tour price (deposit 10$); to learn more about this payment method, please contact us.

Why is a passport needed for the excursion?

The main thing is that the Exclusion Zone is a military facility. The given documentation is shown to passport control at the checkpoints into the Zone, so it is necessary to have it with you for a successful tour.

What is the cost of the trip?

There are several types of trips: scheduled tours for one, two or three days, or individual tours. You can find the price of the scheduled tour in our calendar after choosing the date you are interested in, or at the page “Prices”. The cost of an individual photo-tour depends on the order options and the number of days spent in the Zone. The price of this tour is personally calculated for each client.

How can I pay for the trip?

How can I book a tour?

You need to choose the desired date, and then to send an application for participation and prepay a reservation.

Where is the meeting point for the participants of the trip to Chernobyl?

The meeting place is near the shopping center “Ultramarine”, Lipkovskogo Street, 1A in Kiev.

What time is the start and return to Kiev?

Usual meeting time is 7:30 am for a small group, and 7:15 for the big groups. The time of return to Kiev varies from 20:00 to 21:15. Therefore, if you plan to leave Kiev on the day of the excursion, we strongly recommend you to buy a train / bus tickets, etc. albeit within a defined time limit.

I am a resident of another country; can I come for a tour to Chernobyl?

Yes of course! You just have to get to Kiev for your trip to Chernobyl.

Do you provide dosimeters for the participants in the trip?

Our tour guides are equipped with dosimeters during the trip. In addition, tourists can rent a device (10$), or buy it. Contact us to learn more.

Where does the group spend the night in two-day and three-day trips?

There are several hotels in the city of Chernobyl. All rooms are simple and cozy, in “Soviet” style. The radiation background in the city of Chernobyl does not exceed the norm, so staying overnight is absolutely safe.

Where I could have a meal in the Zone?

On the territory of the Zone there are several grocery stores, and canteens with products imported from Kiev. You can also order an option worth only 150 UAH / 9$;
Therapeutic and preventive nutrition in the departmental dining room of the Zone. Due to circumstances the place of lunch could be changed.

What is the maximum number of participants in the trip?

For regular one-day trips the number can vary from 15 to 45 people, for two- and three-day tours the number is 10-15 people.
